The IMIM Health Services Research Group focuses its research on health care needs and the use of health services, as well as studying the burden of disease caused by mental health problems, by applying epidemiological and psychometric methods, to produce new scientific knowlege.

The group belongs to the Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red de Epidemiología y Salud Pública (CIBERESP).

The main lines of research of the group are focused on the study of highly prevalent mental health problems (depressive and anxiety) from an epidemiological, clinical and treatment response perspective.

The group belongs to the University Institute of Health Sciences Research (IUNICS) of the Balearic Islands, belongs since 2008 to a Thematic Network of Cooperative Research in Health (RETICS, Instituto Carlos III), the Research Network on Preventive Activities and Health Promotion (RedIAPP) and is part since 2014 of the Health Research Institute of the Balearic Islands (IdISBa).

This interdisciplinary team does epidemiological research on environmental and psychosocial determinants that affect neuropsychological development and mental health, especially during childhood and teenage years, taking into account gender perspective and affective-sexual diversity. 

Their main projects are the INMA project and the ADISEX project.

The group's coordinator belongs to the Center for Biomedical Research on Epidemiology and Public Health Network (CIBERESP).

The main research lines of the team of professionals from this university focus on socio-emotional factors related to mental health, the design and analysis of evaluation instruments, as well as the application of new technologies for the evaluation and intervention in children, adolescents and young adults.

The team is part of the AITANA Research group (Analysis, Intervention and Therapy Applied to Children and Adolescents) and to the Center for Applied Psychology, a research center that belongs to the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH).
