Online intervention
SeeIt is a study to evaluate an online intervention for symptoms of depression and anxiety in which you are invited to participate in the PROMES-U project.
MyMoodCoach intervention is a 6-week long app resource that offers different strategies based on cognitive-behavioral therapy to improve symptoms of anxiety and depression. The app also allows you to monitor the emotional state through daily questions. In addition, once a week a mental health professional, who will act as a guide, will send a message to the participant to remind them to participate and fill in the evaluations on the emotional state, the tools at their disposal, and to resolve doubts that may have arisen.
All students from participating universities who are 18 or older. The study involves 6 universities from 5 autonomous communities: University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), Jaume I University (UJI) of Castellón, University of Málaga (UMA), Miguel Hernández University (UMH) of Elche, Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) of Barcelona, and the University of Zaragoza (Unizar).
The study is coordinated by the Hospital de la Mar Research Institute (IMIM).
During the academic year 2023-24, all students will be invited to participate through an online questionnaire with questions about sociodemographic data, general health, mental health, use of mental health care services, childhood and adolescence experiences, social support and personality.
Students who are eligible for PROMES-U and have mild or moderate symptoms of depression and/or anxiety will be randomly assigned to the intervention or control group. A total of about 500 students are expected to participate, half in each group.
In addition, all students participating in the PROMES-U study (both from the intervention group and the control), will be invited to answer online follow-up questionnaires. Surveys will be administered at the end of the intervention, at 6 months and 12 months.
